Larry Houston

I saved the best for last, I want to thank one of my brothers Larry Houston. Larry works for Roland as a demo-person. Everyone there is just crazy about him. I'm proud to be his brother, and love him dearly.

Back home form Winter NAMM 2008

Sorry I couldn't update my blog for Sunday. I didn't have internet access. The Anaheim Hilton doesn't have free Wi-Fi and I had to buy 72hrs of access for $30 when I got in on Weds!

What a great time I had, I got to met Brad Traweek head of Fender's web group.

I have more pictures of gear and will post later.

Don Wilson

Wow, I also found the Don Wilson of The Ventures in the downstair hall, with a bunch of Don Wilson Ventures guitars.

Check out these guitars!

Some Mo' 3rd day

Each year there is so much happenin' on the main and upstairs halls of NAMM that I forget to go down stairs hall. As I got downstairs, I could 'feel' the blues vibe in the air, and I was right.

Alligator recording artists 'Cephas & Wiggins' were laying out some great Piedmont Blues. They even took a request form me and preformed 'Action Man. Man It was great!

I do have gear pictures, I'll post them later.

NAMM Third Day

Wow, what a day, it started off with me meeting up with my friends Keith & Lisa. I met both of them online at Fender Discussion Page Forum. We've had several emails over the years about gear, and missed meeting at the Dallas Crossroads and the James Burton Guitar Fest.

They are wonderful people! Keith knows I love his wife too ;).

I have some pictures but we're going out to eat first before the Epiphone Heart & Soul Show. I was able to score two passes!

Friday Jan 17

What a night, my brother & I had Mexican food, it's different than back in Ohio. The whole NAMM experience is hard to describe! I have a full day, I hope to play at the All-Star NAMM Jam in the lobby at 5:30p. My friend David Harris (hts Audio) is setting up the jam.

More Fender gear shots

Malford Milligan performed along with Greg Koch & Roscoe Beck on the Fender stage. I later got a picture of me and Malford.

I also ran into Larry Coryell in the lobby. I've known Larry since the '80s.

Jan 17

My brother & I had Chinese food, washed down with tequila, what a night. There is not way I can explain the buzz of being here at NAMM.

Gear talk; Roland has released a firmware upgrade Ver 2 for the BOSS BR-900, the firmware upgrade can be found here http://www.roland.com/products/en/BR-900CD_Version_2/index.html. A new rhythm guide software will be available soon for the BR-900 & BR-600.

Roland is also a major shareholder in Cakewalk!

This is my fourth NAMM since my brother Larry has been working for Roland. I've always enjoy hangin' with him in CA, and I also seeing the new musical gear at NAMM.

At the past NAMM conventions I've met many of my musical heroes. i.e. Eddie Kramer, Tommy Shaw, Steve Vai, just to name a few http://picasaweb.google.com/thouston0/Namm2005

Wow, I just scored passes to Epiphone's Heart & Soul concert, great news http://www.epiphone.com/news.asp?NewsID=1010.
